I have just been informed that our server will be upgraded from 30th October to 1st November 2009. During this period there will be no access to www.rsinsch.de and no access to our high performance modland mirror. This also means that the iPhone ModBox application will not be able to download modfiles from the internet during this weekend.
Thanks for your understanding.

I have finally received word from Apple that my ModBox Module Player is ready for download within the iTunes Store. With this tool you are able to upload and play back all your favourite MOD/S3M/XM/IT modules on your iPod Touch and iPhone. It also comes with a large selection of free instantly downloadable songs from the Modland Library (ftp.modland.com) so things are easy if you don't have your old modules available.

After a lot of work the ModBox Module Player (a mod player for the iPhone) is finally ready. It features an included easy-to-use song database with direct-download from various authors, an integrated FTP Server and support for all common module formats (e.g. Protracker, Fastracker, Screamtracker, etc.). Unfortunately Apple seems to be very restrictive and uninformative as far as approval for the iTunes store goes. My first attempt in releasing has taken a total of 12 days with the final result
Your application, ModBox Module Player 1.0, is requiring unexpected additional time for review. We apologize for the delay, and will update you with further status as soon as we are able.
The original version included a database with 92,000 songs and some may guess that Apple may find some song- and author names displeasing. As a result I have now stripped down the initial version to a 5,000 songs one where all names have been proactively cleaned up to be politically correct (no more songs with the f* word, etc.).
So if you are addicted to amiga and pc tracked music, stay tuned. It's worth it.
Update 21st may: I have received another unexpected delay. This time it probably was "Pink" (from Abyss). Of course I did not receive an explanation, just the plain-old delay message. Anyway, I have now changed it to "Pink of Abyss" and reuploaded the app. Let's see what will happen now.
Update 12th June: Nothing from apple. And they don't react on emails. It is just as the app does not exist. I have now ported the app for iPhone OS 3 and reuploaded the binary. Personally, I don't think that this will change anything.
